The Municipality recognizes the importance of accessibility and the significance of NS Bill No. 59, Accessibility Act; An Act Respecting Accessibility in Nova Scotia and is working on increasing accessibility in our buildings, operations, policies, programs and practices. To do this we need information and direction, and are hoping an evaluation and audit will inform our process and help prioritize and that by starting with our main entrance we are demonstrating our desire to be truly accessible. Through this process, the Municipality will identify community needs and consider how best to meet these needs. This plan will articulate the Municipality’s mission, vision, values and priorities, and guide planning and operational activities over the next 4-5 years. Sealed Tenders from contractors will be accepted until 2:00 p.m., AST, Thursday, September 1, 2016, by Mrs. Beth Schumacher, Deputy Clerk, of the Municipality of the County of Antigonish for “Antigonish County Court House – Tender 2016”. Work to be completed under this contract includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Repainting the exterior of the Court House, including repairs to clapboard, frieze boards, fascia and soffits (scraping, cleaning, patching, painting)
- Repairing the trim and sills of windows (scraping, replacing damaged components, painting, caulking)
- Repairing the main Court House exterior doors (stripping, repairing, staining, sealing)
- Repairing the Court House Portico and Steps (removal of decking, repair/replacement of concrete, repairing/replacement of ramp)
Submissions may include one or a combination of all of the items noted above, as more than one contract may be awarded at the discretion of the Municipality based on the submissions received.

Request for Proposals for a Grid Tied Fixed Orientation Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System for Municipal Solar Project AWARDED on March 15, 2016 to Appleseed Energy Inc.
The Municipal Climate Change Action Plan (MCCAP) and Integrated Community Sustainability Plan (ICSP) recognize the importance of energy efficiency, reducing green house gas emissions and increasing our investments in renewable energy. In line with this, the municipality is currently seeking proposals for a 20-25 kWh solar photovoltaic system that will be mounted at the Municipal Administrative Centre, 285 Beech Hill Rd. The Municipality of the County of Antigonish seeks a filmmaker to complete a series of short vignettes on local government in our community. The intent of the vignettes is to demonstrate through stories the role of local government in our community and inspire civil engagement while educating on the role and reality of municipal government. Also to provide transparency on how decisions are made and actions are prioritized.
