| Amenities Beaver Mountain Park offers a convenient wayside park for motorists looking for a picnic enroute or perhaps a chance to stretch, relax or enjoy the scenic countryside. Visitors can enjoy a day trip to the Park to enjoy a refreshing change of scenery or partake in recreational opportunities. The Park's interpretive centre offers a panoramic view of the two distinctive landscapes (the lowlands and broad hills) that make up the Park's vista. Four interpretive panels detail the natural history of the area, the history of the park and the hiking trails. Eight picnic tables and two picnic shelters are provided, as well as water and wheelchair accessible toilets. As much as is possible, the Park strives to meet the many recreational needs of the public and offers a wheelchair accessible paved loop that is 1 - 1.6 kilometers in length. This loop is ideal for those who wish to simply stroll and enjoy the scenery, inline skate or push a baby stroller. There are two easy to moderate trails 3 and 6 kilometers in length that cut through the interior and the back ridge of the park that are ideal for long hikes (good footwear is encouraged). At the back of the trail, a vault toilet and sitting bench is provided. The Park is opened from mid-May to mid-October annually. Although officially closed during the winter season, people are encouraged to use the Park. The moderate trails offer wonderful family cross-country skiing opportunities. Snow-shoeing, wildlife observation or a quiet walk in the woods are other popular activities in the off-season. Contact us! |
